Vintage Transferware Platter

Produced in Europe in the early 20th century, this exquisite antique platter features a classic design and is perfect for enhancing your dining experience. The transferware technique, developed in the mid-1700s, made elegant serving pieces accessible to a wider audience. Designs were etched onto metal plates, inked, and transferred onto paper which was then pressed onto the ceramic or ironstone and fired. Prior to this method, all details were hand-painted. 15″
